About Orillia Attic Insulation
Ontario attic rebates up to $1,250 may apply
A Company That Only Does Attic Insulation
We work on one part of a building, the space above the top-floor ceiling. We top up thin attic insulation, fill bare attics, seal leaky ceilings and clear out old fill that has gone bad.
The work takes us across the city and the townships around it, to houses in town and cottages on the water. Our attic work is fully insured.
About Orillia Attic Insulation
One Rate Sheet For Cottages And Houses
A cottage and a house are priced the same way. The rates per square foot do not rise because a building sits on the shore, is used only part of the year or lies at the end of a long gravel lane.
If a cottage needs more than a house, such as extra sealing in a board ceiling, that work is written on a separate line. You can see what each piece costs and why it is there.
No Price Until Someone Has Been In The Attic
We do not quote attics over the phone. Someone comes out, climbs through the hatch, measures the depth and looks at the venting, the holes in the ceiling and the state of the old fill.
You receive photos of what we found and a quote on paper that spells out how deep, what R-value and how much for every step. The visit costs nothing and you are never pushed to book.
Sealing Always Comes Before Filling
Leaks in a ceiling waste heat that no depth of attic insulation can hold back. The openings around lights, pipes, chimneys and the hatch get closed before the new layer goes down.
That order matters most in older houses and cottages, whose ceilings were never built to be airtight. It also does the most to stop ice dams and frost on the roof boards.
The House Is Left As We Found It
Drop cloths cover the route from your entrance to the hatch, and the hose and the work stay up in the attic. Once the hose is rolled up, the route through the house gets vacuumed and every bag and scrap goes out to the truck.
Every Job Finishes With The Depth In View
Depth rulers are set up in the attic before the attic insulation is blown in. When the work is done, you are shown the finished depth on them, and they stay put so you can check them whenever you like.

Attic Insulation Top-Up
Orillia's older houses mostly need an attic insulation top-up: fresh loose fill laid over the dry layer already up there, until the depth sits near R-60. For an older house, nothing gets the attic up to standard faster or for less money.
Steps and prices -
Blown-In Attic Insulation
Blown-in attic insulation is loose cellulose or fibreglass sent up a hose and spread across the whole ceiling, around every wire, box and joist. It reaches the spots that batts leave open.
Steps and prices -
Cottage Attic Insulation
Cottage attic insulation turns a thin summer ceiling into one that holds heat through a winter weekend. It is priced from the same rates we charge for a house in town.
Steps and prices -
Attic Insulation Removal
Attic insulation removal vacuums out old fill that is wet, mouldy, flattened or fouled by animals, so the ceiling can be air sealed and refilled from scratch. A large hose carries it from the attic to a collection unit or sealed bags outside.
Steps and prices -
Vermiculite Attic Insulation
Pebbly vermiculite attic insulation in an older house may contain asbestos, so a lab test always comes before any other step. Until the result is in, the safest choice is to leave it alone.
Steps and prices -
Attic Air Sealing
Attic air sealing in an Orillia house stops the warm, damp indoor air that slips up through gaps at lights, pipes and wires. We work from above, on the ceiling side, ahead of any new fill.
Steps and prices -
Ice Dam Prevention
Ice dam prevention works from under the roof, keeping the roof boards so cold that the snow on top stays frozen until spring. Sealing, depth and open soffits are the three tools.

Attic Insulation Rebate
Homes from Orillia out to Washago and Brechin may qualify for an attic insulation rebate of as much as $1,250 under Home Renovation Savings, the provincial program. This page lays out the program's rules as they stood when we last checked them in October 2026.

Attic Insulation Cost
Around Orillia, attic insulation cost generally works out at $1.25 to $3.50 per square foot of ceiling, cottages and houses alike. Taking old fill out first costs more.
